Ten Tips For Perfectly Polished Nails

By: AlexxpuNkreaNk GrEzIkraYa. at 00:01 - 24/06/2012

Acquiring perfect finger nails is possible to do at home. There are certain tools to buy and items that will make the process feel like you`re at a spa! Some people just go to the spa to have their nails done because they don`t really know how to do it themselves, but with a few steps to follow having a manicure at home is easy and sanitary.

Perfect Nail Art By Wong Jowo

The first step to performing an at home manicure is to purchase all of the tools and supplies. You will need; cotton balls, hand towels, polish remover, hand cream, base coat, nail polish and top coat, scissors, nail file, emery board, buffer, cuticle pusher, nail clippers and a bowl of warm water with baby oil.

After you pick up your supplies and set them up at a comfortable spot in your house, you are ready to begin. The next step is to soak your hands and nails in the warm water with oil for twenty minutes. Soaking the nails will leave them feeling soft and the cuticles around the nails will be soft and ready for trimming.

The third step is to cut the finger nails to the desired length. Some people choose a box cut to start. Clipping the nails is a great way to keep the nails healthy and at a reasonable length. Once they are clipped you can work with your nails better and continue with your manicure.

The forth important step to giving yourself an at home spa treatment is to push the cuticles back using a cuticle pusher. And once you have pushed each nail back, go over them again using scissors to cut off excess skin. This takes a lot of time so try to be patient with the clipping and keep your hands steady to avoid mistakes.

The fifth thing to do for your nails is to use a nail file on them. A nail file will grind your nail and get rid of the sharp edge caused by the nail clippers. The sixth step in the process is to use an emery board on your nails. And make sure that you take your time with this step as well. A great manicure involves using the emery board until your hands hurt from the scrubbing motion.

The seventh step in the process is to apply a base coat to the nails. Use a cotton ball to wipe away any excess skin droppings and then apply the base coat in thin even strokes. Let the base coat dry for a few minutes, it doesn`t take long to dry. The base coat helps the polish stay on longer and gives it a smooth surface to be applied.

Step eight involves applying the actual color to your nails. This is often the best step because you can finally see your manicure come to life! Again use the polish in even strokes. When the color is dry wait a few minutes and then give your nails a second coat. The second coat gives your nails the truest color of the polish you have picked. The ninth step involves putting a top coat on the nails. The top coat looks clear and adds shine to your nails, it also gives it the ability to dry quickly.

Your last step is to let you nails dry properly. You can just sit and watch TV while they are drying or you can pick up a manicure dryer from a department store or pharmacy. When your nails are dry your manicure will be complete, and you will be left with perfect nails!

Gel Nails - Nail Drills For Perfect Nail Filing

By: AlexxpuNkreaNk GrEzIkraYa. at 00:01 - 24/06/2012

Nail art helps make your nails look gorgeous. However, before you can get any art done on them, there is a lot of effort which actually goes into preparing the nails. One of the most important is the filing process. Your nails need to be accurately filed and cleaned by a nail technician with considerable experience so as not to damage your nails. You can also consider filing your nails yourself if you are good enough for the job of using a simple electric file or nail drill. Hand filing is also an option, but will not get you the professional look as when a nail drill with the correct bits can get.

A nail drill is basically an electric nail filer used for filing, shortening, buffing, cleaning and backfilling of nails. It saves the nail technician considerable time when compared to hand filing and also gets better results. Hard to clean and reach areas like the sidewalls and cuticles are easily taken care of by using the correct nail drill bit.

Nail drills are very useful for filing acrylic and gel nails as using a hand filer will be difficult to shape these artificial nails. If you are just beginning to use a drill, it is recommended to start with the sand bands. They are to be slipped over a mandrel and will give you good practice for cleaning of nail surface and for pedicures. The only drawback is these bands are for single use and cannot be disinfected.

Soft drill bits are good to use for the natural nail plate and are available in the barrel, bullet and cone varieties. For acrylic nails, drill bits are available in wide materials and range. Carbide bits are considered one of the best in the industry as they are high quality and the technician has to apply lesser pressure on the client nails. This in turn reduces friction and heat generated and prevents the nail from damage and burns. The large barrel golden carbide bits are good for shortening, refining C curves and surface work. Similarly the cone and tapered cone golden carbide bit is useful for cuticles and sidewalls work under the nails. The football golden carbide bit is to get under the curves of long curved nails. The inverted taper in carbide is useful for a new smile line. A diamond bit is used for a French fill.

Perfect Nail Art By Wong JowoYou should always do your homework before you actually invest in a nail drill and nail drill bits. You should keep in mind your usage, whether you are a pro or beginner and the amount you are willing to spend on the drill. You can begin by investing in a basic drill bit set and then graduate to the higher levels as your confidence soars. A nail drill bit should also be replaced periodically to ensure you get the best results and should always be handled with care so as not to damage your nails or your clients.

Nail technicians usually invest in all of these drill bits or a drill bit kit to get the maximum results on the nails. They also ensure hygiene for their clients by sanitizing each bit before using it on the next client.

So make sure, the next time you visit a nail salon, your technician uses a nail drill with the appropriate bits. You are sure to walk out with magnificent looking nails.

How To Achieve The Perfect Manicure For Strong Beautiful Nails

By: AlexxpuNkreaNk GrEzIkraYa. at 00:01 - 24/06/2012

If you pride yourself on your natural nails, then this is the perfect manicure for you; in fact, it's probably what you should indulge yourself in at least once a week to keep your nails strong and beautiful.

Even if you keep your nails at a shorter, more active length and especially if you use artificials, this process will help keep your natural nails and beds strong and healthy.

Now, you can go to a salon every week or two for a basic manicure and a fresh coat of polish, and that's fun to do if you have the time and money.

But some beginning home manicurists really need to learn the basic steps to proper care and health of their nails so they're properly prepped for applying whatever art designs they've decided to try.

So these are the beauty supplies you should have on hand for your home manicure and the steps to follow to get your nails ready for your polishes and art. All of these supplies can be purchased at your local department store and possibly even "dollar stores" in your area for the most savings.

  • A bowl of warm water with some mild liquid soap: opens the pores and loosens cuticles
  • Cotton balls or cotton pads: use with polish remover to remove old polish
  • Nail polish remover (non-acetone for artificials): Removes old polish and removes cuticle oils after the manicure
  • Fresh dry towel: to pat dry your hands after soaking
  • Orange stick: cleaning under the nails and removing overgrown cuticles
  • Nail clippers: cutting nails down if needed; safer and better trim than scissors
  • Emery boards or files: trimming and shaping
  • Nail buffers: removing surface ridges
  • Nail polish base coat and top coat: the final touches

And here's what you do for a salon perfect manicure at home:

  1. Use the cotton balls or pads to remove your polish then clean your nails. If you're taking your time and having nothing else planned but your manicure, you can leave your hands soaking in the soapy water for a few minutes after you remove the polish.

  2. Use cuticle oil around the cuticles to help soften them after soaking them. This also helps loosen the cuticles to push them back.

  3. Clean underneath your nails and around the cuticles with the orange stick. Use the orange stick push the cuticles back.

  4. Clip and shape your nails. You may not need to clip them if you are in fact letting them grow longer. But sometimes wear on the ends depending on what you're doing with them and need to be reshaped. If you're using artificials and need to keep your natural nails clipped short, be sure to file them a little to make them smooth around the edges.

  5. Be sure to only file your natural nails in one direction at a time, starting from the sides and moving to the middle. This one-way motion will keep them from splitting.

  6. Buff the top of your nails with the buffer. If you have any ridges in the nail bed, you can buff them smooth so your polish and any art looks smooth. Polishes will go on much nicer if there aren't any surface ridges.

  7. Remove any excess cuticle oil or creams with non-acetone polish remover to get ready for polishing. If you're not planning on using a color polish or doing any art designs, you can apply one or two coats of a clear base or top coat and you're done. Otherwise, apply one to two coats of base coat and then move on to whatever nail art technique you have planned for the day.
Perfect Nail Art By Wong JowoThis is the perfect manicure to do at least once a week not only for nail beauty but to keep your nails looking their best, even with artificial nails or tips.

What Price Are You Willing To Pay For Nails With That Perfect Look?

By: AlexxpuNkreaNk GrEzIkraYa. at 00:01 - 24/06/2012

Have you ever stopped to consider how much effort people, particularly women, put into even the most minuscule details of their appearance? Why is it that society puts such emphasis on these small little details of our appearance? And, on top of why we do it, do you know how toxic even simple nail polish can be in our lives?

Perfect Nail Art By Wong Jowo

The whole concept of female beauty has been sold to society through carefully constructed advertising campaigns. These commercials and advertisements in popular fashion magazines and on the television stress that to be happy, successful and popular you have to be beautiful from your head to your toes. In reality this level of beauty doesn't exist, but there are products that are guaranteed to provide you with the beauty you desperately need to be happy; at least according to the product manufacturers. Women are sold make-up, hair products, skin creams and nail polish to help them look dazzling, flawless and beautiful even if they weren't naturally blessed with these qualities.

Young girl, teens, adults and even mature women are exposed to this constant barrage of what the perfect woman looks like. These images aren't reality; they are a fantasy created by great lighting, camera work and considerable touching up of images. However, the illusion that this is a reality and that by achieving beauty you will be successful, happy and lead a perfect life is very alluring and appealing to most women. In fact, in current times, the same type of image selling is also being directed towards men with a huge increase in men's beauty products now available on the market.

Women aren't all caught up in the illusion of perfect beauty. Many women are very comfortable in their own bodies. They recognize their uniqueness and talents in a wide variety of personal and professional ways. Despite all this progress there is still the underlying, nagging notion that beauty and perfection is the icing on the cake and something that all women should strive for.

Emphasis on beauty for many women starts with working on their inner beauty and seeing the results in outer changes. This can include eating healthy, adding routine exercise and eliminating unhealthy habits such as smoking. Through taking good care of our bodies we learn to celebrate our natural beauty and maximize our inner being. This often translates into a happier person, more content, compassionate and in step with the world around her.

But, despite our brains telling us that beauty isn't just the surface, we do succumb to the subtle and not so subtle demands for us to always look our best. For most women this includes making sure they always look tip top, no matter what stress, anxiety or personal issues that may be going on in their lives. They believe that looking good is a way to have self-respect, appear youthful or sexy or be seen as a valuable member of society.

One way that women often use to add that touch of beauty is to use nail polish to make their fingers and toes more attractive. If you look around the next time you are out, you will typically find that the majority of women are wearing nail polish, which should give you pause. After all, nail polish is not a protective or necessary product. It is strictly used to make the women look and feel sexier and more attractive, or to add that distinctive dash of color to coordinate your outfit. However, behind this seemingly innocent beauty product is a horde of toxins, all which are directly in contact with your body.

Toxins In Nail Polish

In order to understand just how potentially harmful nail polish is let's take a look at what it contains. There are several chemicals and compounds that are found in nail polish that belong to the same group. Compounds including n-Butyl acetate, sec-Butyl acetate, tert-Butyl acetate, di-n-butyl phthalate and ethyl acetate can cause a number of significant health problems. These chemicals have been linked to irritations of the eyes, skin, nose, mouth, throat, lungs and severe nausea, vomiting and stomach pains. They can also cause dizziness, headaches and confusion, even in very limited cases of exposure.

The dangers of nail polish don't end with these compounds. Acetone, found in nail polish remover, is linked to headaches, loss of appetite, irritation to the eyes and skin as well as depression and inability to sleep. Camphor, also found in nail polish, causes many of the same reactions but also results in random and uncontrolled muscle contractions. Formaldehyde exposure is just as problematic and can cause some forms of cancer was well as irritations to the skin, eyes and respiratory system. Like the other chemicals listed above formaldehyde is used in nail polish but is also found in many nail hardeners.

Toluene, found in nail polish and in the glue for artificial nails, is a very nasty toxin. The symptoms of exposure to this chemical include muscle fatigue, inability to sleep, headaches, mental exhaustion, confusion, eye and nose irritation, skin rashes, kidney damage and problems with liver functioning. Permanent scarring of the lungs and cancer is possible with the exposure to titanium dioxide, also found in this common beauty product. And, last but certainly not least, nitrocellulose increases your heart rate and causes nausea, vomiting and lack of coordination with your movements.

It is highly unlikely that you have ever stopped to read the ingredients on that bottle of your favorite colour of nail polish. Next time you pick it up read what you are choosing to put on your body and decide if this is really a beauty product that is worth all the risks and possible side effects of the chemicals it contains. Remember that your nail is actually porous material and is directly in contact with the living cells of your body, so there is transfer of the chemicals in the polish to your metabolic system.

Better Alternatives

Thankfully there are several alternatives or proactive ways to control the exposure of your body to these harmful toxins while still being able to use nail polish and other beauty products. Organic and non-toxic types of nail polish are available, however they may be difficult to find and can be very expensive when compared to the commercially available options. These are certainly a good choice and, although a bit more costly, they are definitely much healthier for you in the long run.

Another option is to help your body rid itself of harmful toxins through using activated liquid zeolite. This product actually allows your body to detoxify at the cellular level, removing the harmful chemicals and toxins before they build up to levels that are problematic.

Stewart A. Lonky M.D., said "Because chemical and toxin exposures are impossible to avoid, and because the accumulation of these toxins definitely have health consequences, I believe that the use of a chelating and detoxifying agent such as activated liquid zeolite should be a part of every person's daily regimen. There is no better gift you can give yourself and your loved ones."

Natural Cellular Defence Zeolite removes heavy metals and toxins from your body safely and effectively.
